It is great at maneuvering under furniture and seems to be a great option for those with hard floors or those who want to perform light daily cleaning. The suction might be a bit weaker than the suction of our top picks, however it still gets the job accomplished. It also has a large dirt bin and a battery which lasts for more than an hour. The app lets you schedule your daily cleaning or choose a specific room. It's also possible to map out your home, which could assist in avoiding areas that you don't want to go to. The eufy RoboVac11S is another good option for regular vacuuming. It is a close design to our top pick and is great at picking up small particles and fine dust from hard floors. It also does a decent job on medium and low-pile carpet. Like the iRobot Roomba it also comes with a large dirt compartment, and it uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It also has an adjustable remote that is easy to use, and you can program daily cleaning routines with the app. The battery lasts for around an hour and the dustbin can be easily empty by removing it from its dock. 2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is a fantastic robot vacuum cleaner and mop with a surprising array of features for automation. The Roborock S7 MaxV comes in three different versions that include the basic S7 model and the S7 Plus model, and the S7 Ultra. The latter model is the only one with an Empty Wash Fill Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its home base, empty the collected debris in a dust bag, or reservoir, empty the dirty water tank and wash its mopping pads. Sensors on the S7 work together to clean and avoid obstacles. It can detect floor types and save a map of rooms and zones. It can even detect dirt levels. It can also plan and execute spot cleaning sessions. It performed well in standard tests, but did not perform as well as the Roomba j7+ for the carpet deep cleaning test. Utilizing the companion app, you can program the S7 to run a cleaning cycle in accordance with your schedule. The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi that lets you monitor it via the Shark app and view its battery level as it cleans. The app lets you create cleaning schedules, get notifications by push regarding its current status it is in, and the ability to pause and resume cleaning, or set it to a single room. It can also be controlled by voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will inform you what power mode it's currently in--Eco, Normal or Max--but we didn't find that any of these modes had a significant impact to cleaning performance. The IQ XL will automatically empty the dustbin at the end of each cleaning cycle into the base, which will then automatically empty itself. The bin can hold up to 60 days of debris, meaning you won't have to empty it more than once unless your pets have long hair. If you have to empty it, all you have to do is untie the side bin, hold it over a trash can and press a button to empty the contents. However, it also has additional features for vacuuming and mopping. The new acoustic sensors assist the j7+ recognize flooring types, meaning it can decide between mopping and vacuuming when it first enters a room. This information can also be used to prioritize cleaning rooms that have carpets and rug versus those with hard flooring. The J7+ is quieter than most robotic vacuums when it's running, and even quieter when it's mopping. Its maximum reading on our decibel meter was 64db which is similar to the noise of general office chatter. You can easily set up a cleaning schedule and alter what happens when the dust canister is full. The j7+ is also able to be controlled using voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.) The app lets you create and view maps within your home. The j7+ performed well in our tests of both carpeted and hard flooring, and was able to remove most of the dirt that we tossed at it. It has some issues with pet hair and larger debris like sand, however it can clean these things with a little extra effort. It also has good navigation capabilities and a set of cliff sensors to prevent it from plunging down the stairs or stumbling on furniture legs. We did find a couple of small niggles with the j7+, mostly that it can get caught on cords and carpets, and it doesn't always switch off its mopping when it's finished vacuuming. This is a great model that checks all the boxes. iRobot's j7+ also is one of the best self-emptying systems we've seen. It dumps its 14oz/0.4-liter dust canister in the base station, and it automatically emptys for you. This helps reduce the amount of trash that you must get rid of. You'll only need to change the dust disposal bag at the dock every 60 days, depending on the frequency you use the j7+.
